I've been doing this for over a decade, and I still walk into rooms where I'm the only woman, where bookers assume I'll do "period jokes," where male comics interrupt me mid-sentence like I'm at a goddamn dinner party, not backstage at the Comedy Cellar. Sure, we've made progress - I got my own show, my movies, whatever. But for every Amy Schumer, there are still fifty dudes getting passed at clubs while equally funny women wait in line. The industry gatekeepers? Still mostly men. The late-night writers' rooms? Still sausage fests. We're not crying victim here - we're just calling out what we see every night. Progress doesn't mean the problem's solved. It just means we're loud enough now that you can't ignore us anymore.
