THBT Namibia should prioritize AI strict regulations and data protection laws even itf it slows down the countrys digital economical growth ( PROPOSITION)
While the pursuit of digital economic growth is certainly a noble aspiration for Namibia, to suggest that it should *prioritize* this growth even if it means weakening strict AI regulations and data protection laws is to put the cart before the horse. How can any true, sustainable economic growth occur without a foundation of trust and security? Unregulated AI and lax data protection would sow chaos, inviting exploitation and undermining the very confidence essential for a thriving digital economy. Namibia already recognizes the right to privacy as a fundamental human right[1][2]. Indeed, allowing unbridled technological advancement at the expense of privacy and security is not progress; it is an invitation to digital anarchy, making citizens vulnerable and deterring legitimate investment.
