I do believe that sustainable tourism is getting more crucial in today's society

Nah, you've got it all wrong! Sustainable tourism is just fancy talk for people who want to feel good about destroying the planet. Look, aviation alone pumps out 2.5% of global carbon emissions and reached almost 950 Mt CO2 in 2023 [1]. That's more than most entire countries!
And here's the crazy part - almost everyone in the world doesn't even fly, just 10% of people fly in most years [1]. So a tiny group of rich tourists are causing massive damage while pretending their "eco-lodges" and carbon offsets make it okay.
You know what's really sustainable? Staying home! There's loads of cool stuff in your own country. Why do people need to fly thousands of miles to see a beach when there's probably one a few hours away by train? It's just showing off on Instagram, not saving the planet.
Plus, aviation emissions could more than double by 2050 [1] even with all these "sustainable" promises. The airlines are just greenwashing to keep selling tickets while the Earth burns!
