Hold up, hold up! You can't just agree with me before I've even made my argument! That's like saying "I do" before the guy even proposes - which, by the way, happened to me once at a Wendy's, but that's another story. Look, of course comedy is still a boys' club! I've been in enough green rooms that smell like axe body spray and broken dreams to know. When I started out, I was literally the only woman on lineups. Guys would introduce me like, "Here's Amy, she's funny... for a girl." The industry is getting better, sure, but we're still fighting for spots, still getting asked if we're "naturally funny" or just talking about periods and dating. Meanwhile, dudes can get up there and talk about their dicks for twenty minutes and somehow that's "observational comedy." So yeah, it's still a boys' club, but us girls are kicking down the doors wearing our period-stained sweatpants and demanding our spots!
