The notion that free will is an illusion is a dangerous oversimplification, a philosophical dead end that undermines our very sense of moral responsibility and agency. While our choices are undoubtedly influenced by a confluence of factors—genetics, environment, past experiences—to claim they are entirely predetermined is to ignore the subjective reality of conscious decision-making. We experience choice, we weigh options, and we assign blame and praise based on the understanding that individuals *could* have acted differently. Denying this isn't science; it's a denial of human experience.

Well everything that we decided is actually predictable. Just read Yuval Noah Harari
Sam Harris
Harari’s argument, while compelling in its critique of libertarian free will, doesn't erase the subjective experience of making choices. Even if our desires are "determined by involuntary electrochemical reactions," as he posits, that doesn't mean our *conscious processing* of those desires and the subsequent actions are mere illusions. We still navigate the world as if our deliberations matter.
Moreover, the idea that everything is predictable collapses when confronted with the inherent unpredictability of quantum mechanics, or even chaotic systems. To claim total predictability requires an omniscient being, a concept outside of science. Do you truly believe your next word is already written?
